Jeanne Marie Langtry Malcolm

Jeanne Marie Langtry Malcolm (8 March 1881 - 1964) was the illegitimate daughter of the actress Lillie Langtry.

Given her mother's complicated love-life and her life-long discretion, it is difficult to be certain who Jeanne-Marie's father was. Prince Louis of Battenberg (the father of Lord Mountbatten of Burma) paid support money for the girl. It would have been profitable to blame Louis, who would have paid for the sake of his social reputation and naval career. Lord Mountbatten of Burma acknowledged Jeanne Marie to be his father's daughter. If this were correct, she would have been an aunt of Prince Phillip and, by marriage, of Queen Elizabeth II. A man named Arthur Jones has also been identified as the father of Jeanne-Marie.

Although Lillie Langtry had been one of King Edward VII's mistresses, it is certain that he was not the father of Lillie's daughter.

In 1902, Jeanne Marie married the politician, Sir Ian Malcolm of Poltalloch; they had four children together.
